The normal and natural responses to the loss of a loved one are heightened during the holiday season.  Although meaning well, we often do and say things that are not helpful to those who are vulnerable and feeling isolated in the cocoon of holiday grief.  This is a season of joy, celebration, and family togetherness, but for some, the painful reminders of what is no longer can dampen holiday spirits.  If ignored or not addressed as one navigates the wilderness of holiday grief, one might spiral downward, negatively affecting the wellness of everyone affected by the loss.
