This workshop covers the following topics and more:

• Relationship-based bereavement theories and concepts
• Types of perinatal loss
• End-of-life decision-making
• Meaning-making

Learning is enhanced through reflection exercises and small-group activities. Large-group discussion further
enriches participants’ experience.

Prior to attending the virtual workshop, genetic counseling students complete three online modules
(“Communicating With the Bereaved,” “Memory-Making and Ritual,” and “Guided Participation: A Theory of
Teaching and Learning”).
