Although it is not possible to protect all children from experiencing the death of someone special, it is possible to guide them in their grief journey. When grief enters a child’s world, they need adults who can care for and comfort them. In this workshop, attendees will learn what we know and how to help the grieving child and feel more confident in parenting. Using a developmental perspective, the workshop will address what to expect at different ages, tips for when more help is needed, ways to foster resilience, and key parenting strategies to increase communication and memory making. This is for any adult wanting to build their caregiving toolbox to support a grieving child.
